With Fermi Linux we have added to the concept of "workgroups" which were introduced in 5.2.1. This is basically a modification of the anaconda "Installation Classes" code but we have added many more choices. This is to enable distinct groups at Fermilab to specify the packages they want installed as well as set configuration parameters during the course of a normal installation. There is a Workgroup Maintainers guide available, that details how to maintain a workgroup, as well as what the workgroups do.

The table below lists information on the workgroups that are currently available for installation. Because the workgroups are much more customizable by the various maintainers, we are not able to give as much detail, such as 'Size' or which desktop they are using. This might change at any time that the maintainers wish it.

Comps.xml

This is the file that lists what rpm's, or group of rpms, get installed.

Workgroup RPM's

Workgroup maintainers can add extra rpm's that are not in the standard Fermi Linux distribution. These are located in this directory.

Workgroup scripts

These are scripts that get ran at the end of an install, or a yum groupinstall.

Extra Files

These are extra files put in /etc/(workgroup-name)/configfiles/ These are just extra files that a maintainer can put on a system.
