They look very similar. A difference is that the SCSI disk for the cheaper box
is not listed as ultra-wide. The more expensive box has a separate video card
rather than integrated graphics.

Subject: comparing hardware

Hi,
I'm trying to buy a new machine for our group that will run
Linux. I got a couple quotes, one from Intregral Corporation in Naperville,
and one from a company in Texas, M&A Technology. There is a $600
price difference, and I'm trying to figure out why, and which company is
best to buy from. The quotes are as follows.

M&A Technology:
Intel, Columbus III Chassis
Motherboard, Intel L440GX+
supports dual processors
2GB SDRAM memory capacity
integrated SCSI (1 x ultra 2) (1 x ultra-wide)
integrated LAN
integrated graphics
integrated SCSI controller, Adaptec AIP7896
CPU, Intel, Dual PIII 500 MHz
Memory, 256 MB EEC SDRAM DIMM
HDD, 18.2 GB LVD SCSI drive
21" Viewsonic monitor
floppy drive, cd drive, keyboard, mouse

Total Price: $3351

Integral Corporation:
InWIN ATX900 w/cas fan x2 300w
Intel Boxed 440GX dual slot1 up to 2GB ATX
2 intel boxed Pentium III 500 MHz Proc 512K
Seagate 18.20 GB SCSI ultra-wide 3.5 HH
ATI Xpert/play PCI 8MB
21"/25mm Viewsonic monitor
256 MB ECC DRAM registered
floppy drive, cd drive, keyboard, mouse

Total Price: $3783

Does anyone see any major reason for the price difference?

thanks,
