I entirely agree with this. We don't *need* to choose. I've been operating
for several weeks now with GNOME *and* KDE installed on the 5.2.1 machines
I control, and my users can choose from the session login screen (gdm).
Just as a quick indicator, out of 4 regular users, the score is:
gnome: 3
KDE: 1
fvwm2: 0
