Re: Forw: Using autofs with an OSF ypserver?

Dan,

First thing to do is to mount your "autofs" things manually. See if
they mount at all. Also look in /var/log/messages for any reasons why
things do not mount. We have problems where not all of the "features"
of nfs are supported by autofs/nfs. Instead of ignoring them it just
does not do the mount.

Dan's suggestions are not specific to autofs. They are for any nfs
mount. Autofs is no different. It is just a fast typist and one that
is always waiting to go. Note that the issue that Dan describes is not
specific to Linux. I have this "what is the name really" problem with
Suns and SGI's too.

You can also do a /etc/rc.d/init.d/autofs status command to see
what it thinks it is doing.
