glibc-2.1

The latest version of libc6 (aka glibc-2.1) has been released.

The question was raised (and we make absolutely no promises here!) if we
should include it in the next version of Fermi Red Hat Linux 5.2.1 be default.

We are also considering including egcs-1.1 (or the latest available).

Both of these are packages are deviations from the standard Red Hat
distribution and the *only* packages we *might* consider upgrading, so don't
come back to us with "Oh, it would be nice if you'd also include such-and-such
package." The reason we are considering these two are because of the
hard-core, Fermi developers, and only then *if* they think they would be
useful.

Please forward on your comments, concerns and questions.

Thanks.

Dan
