Chris, you are right Only the latest v4.4 Applix officially support Office
97/98 formats. Applix 4.3 did not. Some people can accidentally read in Office
97 documents because they either overlook the trouble spots or their documents
are close enough to not noticeably be corrupted. I just bought Applix v4.4
(from Applix... RedHat handed distribution back to Applix) and that is exactly
what they advertise as a new feature: Office 97/98 document I/O filters.
